Domestic Gas Foundation Course – CCN1 + 4 Appliances
The Domestic Gas Foundation Course Including CCN1 + 4 Appliances is a 30 day course aimed at, and available to all those who have formal plumbing qualifications such as an NVQ or relevant industry experience. If this is not you – take a look at our New Entrants Course! A brand new course catered to the inexperienced.
Domestic Gas Foundation Course – CCN1 Overview
Many qualified plumbers wish to increase their skill set and become a registered gas engineer. Usually you achieve this by obtaining both your APL (Approved Prior Learning) and ACS (Accredited Competence Scheme) certificates and completing your portfolio of evidence, all of which are required in order to become Gas Safe Registered. Once you have registered you can legally work on Domestic Gas premises.
This ACS (Accredited Competence Scheme) CCN1 Domestic Gas Foundation Course will award you with all the following appliance codes upon successful completion of the 6 Week Course:
- CCN1 – Core Gas Safety
- CPA1 – Combustion Performance Analysis (part of CCN1)
- CENWAT – Central Heating boilers and Water Heaters (Formally CEN1 and WAT 1)
- CKR1 – Domestic Cookers
- HTR1 – Fires and Space Heaters
- MET1 – Domestic Meters
ALL of the above are covered within the price of the Domestic Gas foundation training and ACS (Accredited Competence Scheme) CCN1 Assessment, no hidden extras.
The Course comprises of three, 10 day stages, which are:
Stage 1 (2-3 weeks) – Foundation Theory and Practical
Domestic Gas Foundation Theory and Practical Classroom Training
Stage 2- Building your Domestic Gas Portfolio of Evidence (2 weeks)
In this stage you will develop your on-site portfolio of evidence. Unlike some other training providers, we can guarantee your gas portfolio of evidence. It is not a case of ‘subject to availability’, you will be sent out on the job with our Gas Safe Registered and highly experienced Domestic Gas Engineers.
Stage 3 (2 weeks) – CCN1 + 4 Appliances
CCN1 + 4 Appliances assessment – the Final 2 weeks include revision, assessments and ACS exams.
Our facilities are fully equipped with all the appliances, tools, equipment and knowledge to accommodate new entrant engineers to take their APL (Approved Prior Learning) and ACS (Accredited Competence Scheme) CCN1 assessments.
Don’t forget that once you have successfully completed your exams you will need to register with the Gas Safe Register before you can legally work on gas appliances.
What you will receive and what opportunities will now be available
As a first time Gas Engineer, having built up the knowledge and hands on experience you have worked so hard for, why not increase it and advance into the next level of gas work?
Changeover courses allow you to step into the Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) market, in which you can achieve codes such as CONGLP (Core LPG), RPH (Residential Park Homes), LAV (Leisure Accommodation Vehicles), or B (Boats), all vastly expanding the possibility and likely hood of work opportunities.
If LPG is the first step for you, why not take the next few steps along with it. Branching into the Commercial Gas Industry, Commercial Catering Industry and even Commercial Mobile Catering. All of these will be covered in our Training Centre during the next 12 months allowing you to obtain codes such as COCN1 (Core Commercial Gas Safety), TCPN1 (Pipework in excess of 28mm), TPCP1 (Testing and Purging up to 6”), CORT 1 (Overhead Radiant Tube Heaters), CDGA1 (Direct Fired Commercial Appliances) or CIGA1 (Indirect Fired Commercial Appliances). Commercial Catering can cover CODNCO1, COMCAT 1 and COMCAT 3.
