Hot Water Systems and Safety Training Course (inc. Unvented hot water) (HWSS).

This qualification allows learners to demonstrate that they have up to date knowledge and are able to design, install and maintain domestic hot water systems in accordance with Approved Document G (ADG) 2010 of the Building Regulations.
This course includes unvented systems.
The qualification may be required as a pre-requisite to some renewable courses.
Who’s this for?
Applicants should be experienced in the installation of domestic hot and cold water systems.
They should be qualified in a conventional fuel e.g. gas, oil, solid fuel or have an NVQ2 plumbing qualification or relevant experience.

- Theory of understanding of expansion of hot water (HW)
- Principles of HW storage
- Design considerations
- Components and function
- Safety controls, discharge and integration
- Installation of HW systems
- Maintenance and servicing of HW systems including
- Unvented HWS
- Health and safety considerations
Competent Persons Schemes (CPS) recognizes the course and successful candidates can offer self-certification.
Classroom based for the theory, practical training and home study followed by in centre assessment
